He has denied absolutely doing anything wrong. Why didn't he take the opportunity to clear up the matter during his scheduled appearance on Sky News?

Politicians will deny doing anything wrong even if there is video evidence of them doing what they say they haven't done!
Same guy who, last Ausust, changed his 'green' opinions about Heathrow, claiming that there were major Chinese cities one couldn't reach directly from Britain unless there was expansion there. It was the merest chance, obviously, that the company he is chairman of had won a major contract to supply the area one of these cities is in!
poor chap is obviously in denial and has lost the plot

He has had his ups and downs, has Mr. Yeo. He was one of the principal actors in the whole "back to basics" mess of Majors premiership, finally having to resign his ministerial position, losing the support of the PM, and of his local constituency party.
