on stolen cars police/Insurance/garages and there value drops when you come to sell the car, is there any way I can re-coup that lost value from my Insurance company

Sorry, don't understand the question? If the car is recovered undamaged, why would it be worth less?

I wonder if he means he bought it without realising it had been flagged as a stolen car, then when he came to sell it its value was reduced because the car was flagged as previously stolen
