I need a number plate and tax for my bike for which i do not have the v5 yet. its been applied for but not arrived yet, how can i go about getting these 2 before i have recieved the v5? TIA

I seem to recall replacing a number plate at Halfords. They didn't ask to see any info.

Get a blank, yellow numberplate and a selection of letters and numbers to suit you. Stick the numbers and letters to the plate in the order you require. Job done.
I don't think you can get the tax without either a reminder or v5.

number plate makers (halfords incl) are required by law to only do so on sight of V5.

presumably they match your postal address to the dvla database - if so you should be ok if the dvla have had time to process the changeover.

No they don't .... They just sell it to you as a "show" plate ie not for road use but spacing etc is perfectly legal

Which states that although, at the moment,(unsure as to date of this website?), at the moment DVLA allow a motorist to tax a motor car and at a local VRO without a V5 registration document if the previous keeper has informed them they are no longer the keeper.

I'd check with DVLA as to their stance on this though.

Hi zuehl yes its nonsense if you go to halfotarts they want your grandmothers gerbils maiden name but online you can get any plate with ny spacing you like
