I need a way to retrieve the keycode for a couple of car radios that I wish to use in a caravan and another I wish to use in my workshop (12v power available). My local Ford dealer wants 23+ vat which is a bit steep - the other set is a Blaupunkt from a Vauxhaul who I think want a similar amount. The radios are 10 and 15 years old. I think the keycode is retrievable from the serial number/s using a computer program utilising an algorithm. Why on earth we need keycodes to reactivate out of date radios beats me. Why can't the keycode system deactivate itself after, say, 10 years.

try an auto electrical shop, most do keycoding for about 10 - 20
I worked for ford dealers for years - we used to charge 8.51 + VAT = 10-00. All they do is to put the serial numbers from the radio into a computer - some dealers charge more because Ford Motor Co limit the amount of tries they can get. The cheapest way is to try www.fordcode.co.uk

Try this web site
www.decodes.com

They charge 5.00 per code and is done on line.
Good luck.

Thanks for the replies people. The decodes.com domain name is out of date presumably out of use and is up for sale. I'll try the others - thanks again - any more replies welcome.
