provisional licence

does anyone know how long it takes for your provisional to come through? If you apply online is it quicker? O can't find the answer on the DVLA site.

my daughter did hers by post and it took about 4 weeks.

you need to provide ID (unless you have a passport number).. and doesn't it need a photo and signature? can you do all that online?
