Intermittent Fault on startup P Reg astra

Hi,my womans P reg vauxhall astra has an intermittent fault on starting up,ive checked the plugs and distributer and cleaned them and sprayed with WD 40...sometimes its ok other times it does'nt...hope someone has an answer...thanks

Check the leads to the Battery - + follow them down to the Solenoid, + the starter,then check the bolts from the starter to the bell housing for tightness & clean earthing
