Radio problm

I have recently bought the Panasonic CQ-C1475N car radio. When connected initially to my ford fiesta (L-reg) it works fine but when the power is turned off and back on there is no sound unless the speaker connector is disconnected and reconnected. When the old radio is put in there is no problem. Please help
