I had to remove the inlet manifold to clean the AGR valve seat which meant I had to remove the feed pipes to the injectors. Having reassembled it I cannot get any fuel though the diesel pump, could this be the immobilizer?

I should not think so, This car should self bleed, there seems that you have air in the fuel system.
The 2ltr diesel engine can be dificult to get started after you have disturbed the injector pipes, make sure there's fuel in fuel filter housing upto the top if not fill up then try slacking of the pipes again & crank over till fuel comes out, after if it wont start you could try removing pipe onto inlet manifold & spray easy start or brake cleaner into the manifold then try to start,if it's the immobiliser which is unlitely the eml light will flash on the dash when you try to start it.
