Have noticed that i get a bit of moisture into the passengers side footwell of the car.Took up the footwell carpet and it looks like its coming from the top right of the footwell .Do these cars suffer from the pollen filter housing problem??.I know that they suffer from the door card membrane leaking ,but its not that.

Thanks

This may or may not help, but it's well meant so here goes.

I had a similar problem with a '95 Escort, it was resolved by poking clear the drain holes on the opposite side to where the battery is. It's not easy explain but it's like a disused battery shelf for L/H drive cars, and there are a number of holes with a channel which gets corroded, fills with a small puddle and drips into the heater unit and soaks the carpet.

Get a metre or so of 2 or 3mm wire and poke them clear till the wire appears underneath, our cars are rather different but the problem seems the same so I believe it may resolve it.

Thanks for your answer.
The Mondeo and Escort bulk heads are completly different and should not apply in this case.
I had the same problem in my Ka. Turned out to be a blocked drain tube from the aircon evaporator. This meant that the moisture that condensed on the evaporator had nowhere to go but into the footwell.
all the major water problems with mondeos mk1 2 and 3 are listed below

Hi i had this problem with mine, and it is a very common problem. The water comes down the outside of the window, into the door and is ment to run out of weep holes in the bottom.
Unfortunatly it runs down the window runner and instead of droping to the bottom of the door it catches on the speaker in the door and then runs into the car from behind the door card.
Behind the door card there is a plastic/foam cover over the door and is sealed. The cover may have a hole in it at the bottom or the sealant has come adrift.
To cure the problem just reseal this with sealant.
Trust me this is the problem and it will cure it.
