Is there any chance you could help me with a problem I've got with my Corsa? I've been told you're the person to ask!!......
I put the question on the other day and so far, no-one has offered any suggestions. I'd be very grateful for any thoughts you may have.

Wow! at last someone's speaking to me! Right, here goes - I've got a 95 Corsa 1.4 petrol automatic. When I start it up in neutral it starts ok but sometimes when I put it in drive and start to pull away, there is hardly any power and I notice that on the dash, the 'S' for sports mode is flashing. As long as it continues to flash, the car won't go anywhere so I turn off the engine and when I turn it on again, the problem usually seems to have rectified itself until next time. Occasionally it will happen again straight away and I just have to turn it off an then start it up again and then it's usually ok. It also happens sometimes if I drop down the gears manually - say on a really steep hill but the solution is the same - pull over turn off engine, then on again. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks for answering me anyway : )
most probably one of the sensors inside the g/box
best to go to auto gearbox specialist, dont be fooled, most of them can be changed in in a couple of hours WITHOUT removing box when you know how.....but unlikley untrained person would be able to identify which was faulty sensor

eddiescars - thanks for your answer. Looks like its not something hubby can do then!
Did you check your gearbox fluid level yet? Low fluid levels can also cause an auto g/box to act up! Check it first before you visit a g/box specialist. Refer to your car's owners-manual on how to check/top-up an auto g/box .I'm sure "hubby" will sort it.(Make sure the engine is running when checking the level)
