We had new neighbours move in about a month ago, hadn't seen much of them in first week or three.
I came home from work on Thursday, Dave was talking to them over the wall (3 Feet high) I parked up, walked across to Dave, gave him a hug, said hello to them, they just walked off and went indoors.
Dave spoke to them yesterday, all they said was we don't like foreigners, I suspect we're not going to be friends.
They're 60ish by the way.

*report them* for their racist comments!
You have probably encountered that many times before. It's tough but they aren't worth knowing.
Maybe they disapprove of the set up you've got going on with Dave?
Come and live next door to me... ;-)
What would be the point of that, Bobbi? It wouldn't help the relationship with the neighbours and it won't change their view.
I second shoota's remarks.
Yeah you're right Barry but is an offence and should not go unchecked
report them to who Bobbi?
they are best avoided.
There are some weird people in this world.
I'm not sure as I'm lost when it comes to stuff like that, the police?
Maybe dave should tell them "we don't like bigots".
you can't pick your neighbours, the police have enough on their place, and it would be a case of their word against them
i don't like mine because of the hassle they have caused over years, but i wouldn't do it on race.
Yes Dave should have said something Pixie, I hope he did ?
I imagine so.... just wish them all the best with their sad lives, and avoid.
The police would need to see some evidence of at least one incident of hostility; derogatory language; excessive violence; cruelty, humiliation, degradation.

I'm not sure that saying they don't like foreigners is a crime. It's not nice, it is hurtful and some thoughts should be kept to oneself but that one sentence is not enough. Ignoring a person because of their race is not in itself a crime unless it is obvious enough and in a situation to be humiliating or cruel.
