Grinding Noise...

My car is making a grinding sound when I take right turns.
So what could be the problem, apart from the nut behind the wheel ?

Probably a CV joint given up - is it front wheel drive? What make and model is your car?

Wheel bearings. what car and what age?

Still think it is wheel bearings, if so replace both not just the noisy one or the other one will go within a few weeks.

You are probably right Eddie but once wheels area off the ground will be much easier to diagnose

Drivers side front wheel bearing.
All done and dusted by 'Mr Clutch' within a couple of hours for just over £100.

Did you just do the one? OK for a temp fix but the other one will not be far behind and if just one is fixed it puts more pressure on the other one which makes it wear out faster. I was always told to replace them as a pair for best results.

I've never heard that about wheel bearings, Eddie. I had a wheel-bearing failure on a Cavalier at about 60,000 miles and scrapped the car at 200,000 miles with the others intact.

^^ OK perhaps my garage was trying to make a bit more profit. It seemed reasonable to me.

I asked the guy at the garage, about getting the other side done and he said,it don't mean to say that the other side is likely to go any time soon.
That was like music to my ears, as my wallet was suffering from anorexia.
