Corsa rear light problem

i have a problem with my rear lights on my Corsa lights are on fine Indicators fine but if i brake while indicating the light cluster on side i am indicating flashes like a xmas tree any advice would be appreciated

It' a bad earth on the light cluster. find the wire that goes from the light cluster to the bodywork and clean where it makes the connection to the body.
If that doesn't work, attach a wire to the earth terminal on your light cluster and earth it at a good point like a bumper mounting bracket. That's what I had to do on my Viva years ago.

To say auto electrics can be fickle is an understatement.

Which model and year of this Vauxhall Corsa?
Is this fault totally symmetrical and consistent regardless of the weather? Be systematic and get someone to work the controls while you write down which bulb lights or flashes.
Did the fault happen suddenly, or has the car always had this fault?
When it "flashes like a xmas tree" do all bulbs light (including the reversing light)?

First impression is that there is a wiring fault near to the indicator stalk or something really mad like the boot is full of water.
