I think I have immobilised

mate of mine said I could have it for a runaround. It hasn't run for 5 months so I was charging the battery and my Dad came to help, opened a door to shut it properly whilst the car was locked. The car went peep peep peep and I pressed the remote and it stopped but now the car is dead. Is there a button I can press. I haven't got any manuals and I am not sure what model it is, but it is defo a 3 series. Can anyone help? TIA dicky

If you can unlock the car with the key, gain entry and put the key in the ignition. there will probably be a few flashes from an LED. when the flashes have finished, turn off and turn on again. this works on some cars to reset the alarm/immobiliser. worth a try...

Thanks Shooty, I ended up disconnecting the earth strap and draining any residual charge from the car, seems to be sorted now. I only just saw your reply. If I do it again as I am sure I will I will try your suggestion. Ta, dicky.
