Hello
I have a problem of the seat belt tensioner light flashing at times. I rang a Mazda dealer (some distance away) and was told a diagnostic check would pin point the cause.
, I have been to my local garage for a check (£40 was right) and told the seat base was at fault, but i should go to Mazda dealer to be certain. Because the dealer is some distance away I am a bit wary if the air bags are still working
(sods law and all that) anyone know please.

I can't say where the fault lies I'm afraid, but are you saying you handed over £40. to the garage that was unable to give you a diagnosis, and told you to go to the Mazda dealer?

I was told the seat base was at fault and £750 plus to put right if it is the seat base. £40 was for the diagnostic check, and because of the big bucks cost see a dealer for a check and a cost for repair.
Groupie, what year is you car, if around 1>>2 year old I would contact Mazda UK explain your plight & if the car is fairly new explain that the seat belt base should have lasted longer than this, give them all the Info/ Chassis No/ Mileage/ Reg No/ & see how you go on, this is what I would do & also state the 40 pounds that you have spent, its worth a try.
