alfa romeo 156 purchase yes or no??

thinking of buying a cheap alfa for a bit of fun, i don't really know much about alfa's but i do know my vw's.
question to anyone who knows more than me is that i've been offered a 2003 156 t-spark turismo for £495, but has done 167k.
are alfa's still good at this mileage or are they about had it??

it is petrol and has no history as was taken in p/x last week but garage said engine / clutch and gearbox is fine.

whats your opinions??
