Admitted into a clinic in London.

Told you people. She looked spaced out on Saturday. The poor woman was not cut out for fame like this.

She's in the 'Priory' they assume. She's been acting strangely and erratically. It's been put down to exhaustion! If you'd seen my answers on the night that's exactly what I said. The woman was not equipped to cope with such sudden fame.

And No, it's not Simon Cowels fault...it's the pap's that are constantly looking for a headline....!!!

I don't remember Elaine Paige (sp) having to put up with this.

Hi Ummmm.

Poor Susan. Fame is so ridiculous. Why do some people feel the need to treat anyone differently? To be famous for having a great singing voice is fine, go to hear or buy the CD. But don't hound the person.

Anyway, Susan is the same as she was before BGT.

Weird.
Morning ummm, I agree, she was defo spaced out on Saturday night, Bless her.
She was never going to be able to cope with this kinda thing, hell, now there's mention of making a film of her life, a book, the list is endless.
She seemed to attach herself to Piers as a child would to someone who was buying them their favourite toy, so when he gave someone else a compliment, it sadly felt like a betrayal to her, hence the swearing and tantrum...
I wish her well,
Joy x
No! no!....she was told that a certain,,sqad...was entering next year with his impersonation of Cliff Richard's rendition of the song "Living Doll"

That was too much for her to cope with so she "flipped"
Fame, Fame, fatal Fame
It can play hideous tricks on the brain
But still I'd rather be Famous
Than righteous or holy, any day
Any day, any day
To be famous, you need the Press (obviously!).

You have to allow yourself to become public property.

The public will not buy 5 million of your CDs unless they own you.

And the Press WILL jump on every aspect of your life.

So ... you have to be tough, gritty and resilient.

I've seen SuBo's semi final performance on YouTube ...

... she was rubbish.

The took about 15 seconds to find the right pitch.

Would you pay money for a CD if the artist got some of the notes wrong, but was "quite good" in parts? Of course not.

SuBo is lovely, but she's not cut out for that sort of lifestyle.
She is just a simple person living a simple life who has a wonderful talent. We all know someone who fits the 'simple' reference. How would that person behave if they were suddenly thrust with a 'whhooooosh' into the public limelight. I expect it would be pretty scary!!

Sure, make an album and have the odd appearance, but not to push her over the top.
It has happened too fast for her, poor woman, and she cannot cope.
I wish her all the best.
But is she even all that good?

Her audition was surprisingly good.

Her semi final was terrible, but the Press has already made her the "dead cert" qualifier.

Listen to her semi final, if it's still on YouTube. It's rubbish.

She is not consistent. Of course she can sing, but she can't consistently sing well in public. I wouldn't waste money on a SuBo CD.
She might be ok in a recording studio though Jayne. I think it was knowing that she was being watched by millions that affected her performance in the semi and final.

Could you do it? I know I couldn't.
Even Paul Potts said he had nerves about singing on BGT again, and he is a brilliant performer.
Yes, I could do it in a recording studio, with a team of sound engineers, and a bank of sound technology.

I couldn't do it on stage.

But if I did, wouId you pay money to make me rich, knowing that I could only sing well behind closed doors, with a team of engineers?

(silly question, maybe ... it worked for the Spice Girls)
It would build up her confidence though Jayne. It's what she needs. And she needs to find people who are there for her to help her along.
Too much too soon has been the problem here I think.
:-)
With a bit of encouragement, support, coaching, technical support, etc ... we could all do it.

There are enough brilliant, confident singers out there, who can't get a break. Pick any one of them, instead.
She has God's gift of a natural talent. It would be a shame if it was wasted, that's all I'm saying.
We must agree to differ on this Jayne, but I can see your point also.

anyway, I must get ready to go out.
Have a nice day.
:-)
SuBo has had her "15 minutes of fame"

She should sell her story to some magazine for 500,000 and get on with her life.

Otherwise ... sooner or later ... she will end up in hospital.

Oh ... it's happened already.

=0(
Lexie ... have a jolly day, whatever you're doing ...

Thank you Jayne.
you too.

Looking at Susan Boyle is like looking at a mirror image of my dear sister-in-law, who has now sadly passed away.
She also had learning difficulties like Susan and would lash out and swear when her routine was changed or she had any pressure on her. I fear poor Susan might be temporarily helped in the Priory, but long term, she will not be able to cope with all that comes with showbusiness.

Entering a talent contest like BGT is so huge, I do not think Susan realised what it entailed.
I have read that she has always been somewhat erratic...due possibly in part to the fact that she has minor learning difficulties. She was deprived of oxygen for a short while at birth.
People who've worked with her over 20 years say she is a perfectionist when performing, and expects total silence from the audience.
As for ANY artist giving a perfect performance on stage....many don't...yet fans still buy. She is an amature.....give her a break.
Question Author
I was deprived of oxygen at birth. That could explain sooo much!!!

None of the other contestants in BGT have been thrusted into the spotlight like Susan. Could you imagine having the whole world know that you're a 57 year old virgin. Or being called the hairy angel?

She hasn't been given enough support.
The media can be so cruel.....especially in this country. They 'give' fame...and then ridicule when it is not handled well. It is one thing to become famous over time...but to be thrown in the limelight over night is something no one can be prepared for...particularly if they do not seek it.
Function of the media ...

To print things that the public will pay to read.

Not the function of the media ...

To build people up and massage their egos.

Everybody wants to be rich and famous. To be the chosen one, who emerges at the top of that particular pile, you have to be tough, determined, resilient.

The public do not owe you a celebrity life ... you have to fight for it, and fight hard.
