I wouldn't have thought that was extortionate. I pay around the same, but that does include a swim & the use of the health suite (jacuzzi, sauna, steam room).

The BF's gym, if it's on a pay-per-visit basis, is about �10. But that's a very posh gym! Mine's a council run thing.

We have a gym here at work and it is free.
But it is small and long queues for most equipment as there is only one of everything.

Most people come in very early or stay late to use the gym.
Lunchtimes is out of thre question.

We also have aerobic, step, kickboxing and running classes which are �2 a session.
