under 18s can sell it in supermarkets, can it be any different? Of course in some supermarkets they need to check with supervisor.
What about an 18 and a half year old Police Officer stopping an HGV for licence checks when you can not drive one until 21?

A 17 year old soldier fighting a political war in Iraq when they can not vote?

I am sure there are some more.
"For sales across a bar, however, every sale or supply of alcohol by someone under 18 must be specifically approved by the designated premises supervisor (DPS), the premises licence holder or someone over 18 who has been authorised by either the DPS or the premises licence holder. If the sale or supply has not been specifically approved then it is the person who knowingly allows the sale or supply to take place who is guilty of an offence. "

Can under 18s sell it in a supermarket? I like in NI and they can't over here, there are special tills at Tesco etc that say you can't buy alcohol at them and they put the young ones on that!
apologies chazza, Im in England and under 18s can sell it at tills here.
Just to add to my above, a 16 year old can be legally married, have kids, be a multi-millionaire from the lottery but can not buy Razzle magazine!!!
i have recently taken the course to gain my personal licence and we were told that as long as someone with a personal licence or the DPS watches EVERY sell then 16 & 17 yr olds can sell alcohol. Most places dont do this as its easier to serve customers your self. Basically, a DPS or personal licence holder must be stood right next to them.
hope this helps
i dont think so, even sainsburys/ t jhughes/ and tesco cant sell it themselves unless they are 18
