i havent watched and dont really want to, my husband is a butcher and his father had his own shop so he knows it and has done it since he was 4 so he tells me what happens and thats enough for me without having to actually see it as well

Thanks For the answer Gina

i suppose if you have lived with it.. then you will have no intrest..a bit like watching top gear if you own a garage... has your husband watched it ?... i think if my job was going to be on telly.. i'd watch just to see how it's put across to the t.v viewer's ???.. i'm fasinated and shocked at the sametime...
It is slightly shocking how quickly the living animal became just a bit more meat that we recongnise in the butchers or supermarket and all the blood and gore is forgotten .
The "bleeding " and head removal is the only bit that looks a bit of a turn away moment .
This abbatoir seems well run and professional and efficent , but I'm sure there are some that are not so "clean "and quiet .
I walk through Smithfield meat market on the way to work and see the end result with all the carcasses around .

It'll be interesting to see the rest of the series with the Pigs and Chickens etc.
not sure if he watched it or not although it is taped
My husband used to work as a slaughter man years ago before becoming a butcher. So I`ve had a run down of what goes on. I know what happwens to chickens as my dad used to keep them.
There seem to have been quite a few of these programmes on over the years, and they just leave me thinking "yeah, so what?". I mean, how the **** does anyone *think* meat is produced? I'd happily do it the Ray Mears way, myself.
