Shelf life of reality "stars"

Most pop stars have a shelf life of about 18 months-3 years. Not the great stadium bands, but your average signed band. A short time in the spotlight. Surely the likes of Jade Goody's (a rather nasty person by all accounts) time is now UP? I mean, she barely deserved public attention in the first place, yet somehow all the mags still featured her, and she was on TV progs with her salon. I feel that these untalented wannabes don't deserve ANY fame, and she certainly does not deserve to claw her way back into the public eye now.
