Removing DVDs from casing

Has anyone else noticed that recently DVDs are becoming increasingly more difficult to remove from their cases? Last weekend I tried to remove one I'd rented from Blockbuster and it actually snapped because the circular plastic ''thingy'' holding it in place was far too tight. Blockbuster were OK about it though and I didn't have to pay.

No, but I notice every time I buy one online, they're loose in their box.

Just an observation.
I only recently discovered that with some of them you need to press on the centre of the plastic thingy to make them come out. Duh.
some have been tougher to release, but just press the circle holder and it comes out
did you just pull it from the edges? or press the centre button as well?

I always press the centre thingy but this one needed extra effort and, despite pressing the centre with my thumb and gently prising the edge with my fingers it snapped.
Ah well, looks like it's just me being unlucky then!!
