Good evening, all. It’s that time of the week again - even though it doesn’t seem anything like seven days to me since we last did this!

I could only scrape a score of THREE out of seven in the main quiz this week:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-66808672

I couldn’t do any better in the junior quiz either. Just TWO out of five for me:

Still no Timed Teaser though 😕

Your turn, anyway!

Evening, Chris.

4 & 2

Once again I do best in the Junior (3, as opposed to 1 in the grown-up's one).

It must be my second childhood moving in LOL.

4 for me on the main quiz but I have to admit that they were all guesses. Only 2 on the junior quiz. Must try harder and pay more attention to the news!

Good Evening, Chris!

My scores are

5/7, 2/5

How did your weekend go at rally manning the radio stand? Hope it was very enjoyable and you didn't get sunburned.

It's my son's birthday weekend so party time! Been decorating house and stocking up on party food. Plus looking forward to 40s weekend at steam railway which is always a wonderful day out.

I'd love to know what the terrific trio have been up to lately. Hope they are all behaving themselves. Hope you all have a fantastic week ahead :-)

4 and 3 for me...not brilliant!

Hi, Scorpiojo.

Well done on beating me - even though it wasn't really difficult, was it? 😉

Hiya, Canary42.

Are you sure that you ever really left your first childhood?

Good evening Buen x

3

1 :-(

I'm too old to remember my first childhood 😃

Hi, Pooka1950!

With that sort of luck in guessing, it might be a good weekend to buy a ticket on the National Lottery, I reckon 😀

Better than me anyway, twice over, Sddsdean!

Well done with that very good 5/7, Karamia!

The Terrific Trio are all fine, thank you.  Despite the decent weather lately, Chequers and Moonbeam seem to have moved into 'winter mode', spending most of their time here in my bedroom with me.  Tablo though, being a girlie, still spends her time outdoors, so that she can hunt mice.

I think that almost every heritage railway in the country must run a 40s weekend these days.  The 'Middy', just up the road from me, had theirs back in May:

Sunday at the Martlesham Heath Control Tower Museum special event went fairly well.  We were short of volunteers on the day though, meaning that I ended up manning the club transceiverfor far longer than I'd been expecting to.  (I never really got to see the other exhibits there).  It didn't help either that the organisers had placed our stand right next to the PA system, which made it extremely hard to hear the weaker stations that were responding to our calls.

I hope that you're well and that you'll have a good week ahead.

Hi, Patsy!

Thanks for allowing me to beat you this week 😉

Evening Chris.

1/7  😩

4/5  😊

looks like i'm a big kid this week  !!

Hope this finds you well  ; ))

A grand total of 4 is all I could manage. I used to wear a big pointed had with a large letter D on it at primary school, they got some things perhaps.

Good evening, chico.  3s all round tonight, shame there's no timed again.

Our vet has always been desperate to find a flea on any of our cats. Charley has problems with his skin but to the vets vexation, still no fleas. We have seen a few despite cats being treated. We've now done the carpets and soft furnishings. Apparently, it's been a very 'good' year for fleas! Are you itching yet?

2/7

3/5

Hi, Sam.

There's nowt wrong with being a big kid.  Well done!

Good evening, 1581960.

They tried to make me wear one of those pointy hats at school too - but I couldn't figure out which way up it went 😁

Good evening, Kwillmott.

Welcome to the Fab Five Club!

(I think that I might be giving my age away by referring to things as 'fab' though!)

Hi, Roo.

You beat me, at least!

I've given up on flea treatments that need to be topped up every four weeks and switched to the one which can be topped up at any time there's the slightest suspicion of the presence of a flea.  It's also incredibly easy to get into my lot by hiding it in their food.  (Trying to get the 'spot on' stuff onto their necks was an absolute nightmare!).  Poor little Moonbeam, who's got a flea allergy, now has a much better looking coat than he's ever had at this time of the year.

(Bob Martin sell the same stuff under the 'Clear' name)

Brilliant!

3/7 v 4/7

2/5 v 2/5  Call it a draw 😀

Neither Shady nor I can cope with all this fancy modern stuff they've put in the answer box 🤔

Could you have a word ? I know you have clout in these parts  :- )

4/7
4/5

Must pay more attention...

Hi Buen ,

Hope you and kitties are pottering along well. Just fresh from the shower her and hoping that I've remembered everything for our holiday in a dog-friendly cottage near Melrose - driving up tomorrow for a much needed week away.

Dreadful score of 2/7 mitigated by 4/5 on the kids = 6/12.
