Should He Do It ?

The Palace is in discussions with BBC for HM King Charles III to do an interview on TV in advance of his coronation. The major topic likely to be his youngest son's recent behaviour.

Should he do it ?

Please try to answer neutrally, this is not intended to be a Royalist v Republican airing although of course it will have a bearing on your views. As an anti-monarchist myself who nevertheless had enormous respect for the King's late mother, I feel that the King would be unwise to do it. We have seen in the past how such interviews have gone horribly wrong, not necessarily achieving anything other than mucky-media-material aimed at increasing viewing figures. They (the media) employ experienced and expert interrogators, and it is impossible (with all his other activities) to keep the King up to their grilling capabilities.

So, in your opinion, should he do it (or should he make it a one-way declaration a la Xmas Broadcast)?

I am much in favour of the latter.

No.
No.
No - and I don’t think he will.
With you all the way Canary.
Sorry, just don't care.
I also don't care and am unlikely to watch any such broadcast, but in principle, no. I have no problem at all with Harry airing his grievances, but it would be unkingly for his father to respond publicly. If he can't sort it out in private, don't do it on TV, it would be too much like Big Brother asking for a public vote on who's to be evicted.
Could you try re-working your question to include a few of your own prejudices and 'insights'?

Thanks.
No. I can see no advantage for the Royal Family should he do this.
I guess Harry would publicly reply and we'd be in for a long time of he said... he did....he said....he did.
Only the media would benefit.
No
Yes
I'm a republican so take my answer in that vein but no I dont think he should (just look at the Andrew disaster)

The Queen, whom I greatly admired even as a Republican, always adopted the "Never complain, never explain" as a way forward. If I was Charles I would adopt the same policy.
You serious, Helen? Or like me are you a little bit nosey and would like the gossip ;-)
No.
If what we read is true, it seems that King Carles has now got Justin Welby involved in getting Harry and Meghan to attend the coronation I mean, that's the last person to ask as he probably has less of an idea than the King.
What does he think will happen if he does invite them and they attend?
Does he think that will be the answer to everything and there will be no more problems?
I wonder if he has spoken to other members of his family about this.
Can't imagine any of them would welcome H&M with open arms.

Surely his people would have the final say of what was broadcast and could also say what topics were off the table?
No, he should just ignore him, they will destroy themselves sooner or later. Thats if they have not already done so.
Gness my view is people have spent months calling H&M liars so if there is no truth in anything they say let’s hear it from the horses mouth.
Definitely not. The King should not dignify Mr and Mrs Markle's outpourings with any sort of response.
Who actually says "The major topic likely to be his youngest son's recent behaviour." or is that your own take on what it will contain?
Helen as one of the first to say yes, what sort of questions would you like to see put to him?
