Spanish naming customs

This couple live and work in UK.
An Englishman George MASTERS married a Spanish girl Silvia Morro SANTIAGO and she then followed Spanish custom by calling herself Silvia Masters Santiago

Their son is known as Michael Masters MORRO. Does that add up? I expected his last name to be Masters.

The woman ...has her fathers surname 1st then adds her mothers maiden name.
If she has children the child takes on its fathers surname 1st then its mothers maiden name
