I think many of us on here realised this a little while ago. Why has it taken so long and how many lives have to be destroyed whilst the CPS tries to make up for past failings (by making more poor decisions)?
You have to wonder at the calibre of the staff at the cps.(and/or the police) In a few of the recent cases the most rudimentary of checks would have told them that witnesses were lying. Is there some pc agenda to believe anything the plaintiffs say, even when they're obviously lying.
You cannot expect too much of PC Plod, well known they dont employ the sharpest knives in the drawer. The CPS though ....
The CPS are a complete shower, I have first hand experience of their incompetance. The recent batch of celeb aquitals just confirm what I already knew. They are staffed by a load of lawyers so bad they can't get a job elsewhere, they are driven by a subjective ideology that overrides any logical reasoning and they are so terrified of criticism that they'll ruin lives when there is little or no evidence. I have been hauled through a relatively minor wringer by these morons and I have zero confidence in their judgement.
I'd prefer to go back to the old days when plod decided on public prosecutions, not perfect but infinately better than the CPS.
Yes fully agree with 3Ts.

Competent lawyers can earn far more than the CPS will pay and so, guess what, many of the incompetent ones finish up working there. Apart from Stuart Hall (who pleaded guilty and probably now wishes he had'nt) there have been no successful prosecutions involving historical sex allegations as far as I can recall. The list of acquitals is lengthy and the list of those arrested and who spent a year or more on bail only to see NFA is growing.

The ridiculous knee jerk reaction to the Jimmy Saville affair is blighting the lives of many now elderly men and it's about time it was reined in. The one person who may possibly have been convicted (and that is by no means certain) is, and will remain, very much dead.
I felt obliged to email Alison Saunders to tell her to pull her socks up.
Her email address is on ceoemail.com

I was surprised however that the MPs that are going to roust her about this week arent sent away with a flea in their ear on the grounds that she is independent and the legislature should not interfere with the executive.

She has already said in her wisdom - the system is meant to work like this - the only surprise is that the great and good started murmuring 'oh come on, come on...'
