Try Channel 4 at the same time, 5.00 pm or 4+1 at 6.00pm. It is much better with more tension and bigger winnings to be won or lost. It will have you shouting out the answers as some of the contestants seem a bit slow.

I agree with you there but the actual the concept, subject matter and the fast (faster anyway) pace is much better than that pointless quiz on BBC1. It is called Five Minutes to a Fortune for any posters who read this and wonder what I am speaking about.

I enjoy Pointless much rather listen to Alexander and Richard than Davina, she is the reason I haven't watched it.

I also miss Universally Challenged, 15-to-1 and even Blockbusters. In general, I'm not impressed by today's quiz shows. Especially those that you can give an A,B,C or D answer. How boring. As for pointless, I grew up with TV programmes that encourage the most popular answer, so Pointless seems a little alien to me!

Pointless has the viewers thinking a lot more than other shows, if sometimes plumbing depths of ignorance which we aren't always aware of; name a country sharing a border with a sovereign state which begins with S, is a prize example; and I , for one, find I haven't even heard of many of the bands that get asked about.

And discovering that 2 of a 100 people have a suspiciously sound knowledge of afforestation in Indonesia is always a pleasure! The double act of Richard and Alexander is good value too.Money isn't everything; some quizzes have enormous prizes for pretty basic knowledge.

Pointless. I like the presenters hate the long boring gaps.

The Chase. Bradley is most excellent, however you have to answer 3 sets of questions and you still aren't guaranteed any money and the questions the chaser gets sooo easy drives me mad.
