it has to be said MSNBC is regarded as very Democrat, much as Fox is seen as extreme Republican. Even if they've got it right, I wouldnt bet that their reports will sway the uncommitted.

I think we are rather lucky in the UK. The political language is less heated, and mostly the politicians narrative is usually based upon truth - distorted and spun maybe - but usually with a grounding in truth.
In the US though, the political debate is much more heated, with much more polemic, and it would seem plenty of negative campaigning. Sure I read somewhere recently that in Ohio alone, over the next 5 days leading to the election, there will be 7000 political adverts, across the various TV channels, and last month there were around 50,000.
Its a staggering number, as is the cost of the campaigns; between the demoncrats and republicans, they will have spent $2.5 billion in adverts, mailshots, text and email adverts.
And both sides massage the truth in their message, but there is a lot of what appear to flat out lies coming out of the Romney campaign. I watched that video, and followed up a link listed below to a blog detailing the falsehoods and lies - now vol.42. each volume of which has around 20 odd distorted or just false statements.
