now Mr Bates is back home, when they get their promised cottage will Mr & Mrs Bates still eat with the servants as usual or will they be expected to eat at home ?

in place of room and board as part of their pay, they will get the tied cottage, which would have been pretty much on a par with room and board for two when you also take into account laundry and bathroom facilities in the big house etc
