Undercover boss care home

Its on just now...im enjoying it...i missed the start though ill have to watch on catchup...

Anyone see it and enjoy it? Was nice to see some carers actually doing a really nice job ...usually on tv its always the bad stuff :) x

Yes, I saw it & agree it showed caters in a good light. Round here carers (who also do personal care, deal with 'challenging' behaviour & administer medication for people with life threatening illnesses) get paid less than cleaners!
Social care is so underfunded and under-staffed, people who set the policies/staffing levels have no idea - they forget that the job entails real people - you can't drop everything to answer a phone or buzzer if you are supporting someone. Employees more staff and accept that your profits will be lower!

I thought this really showed carers in a good light, I do hope the boss really takes on board what she experienced whilst under cover, as they would then be the type of care home that I would like to end up in

I'm a carer in a nursing home and have often thought what a good idea undercover is in this environment as are unannounced inspections.
I missed the programme tinks what channel was it on please ?

It was Channel4 so it might be repeated on More4 or 4seven and it should be available online on 4OD. There's a good article in the Guardian about the programme too and that is available online also.
