Public entertainments licence

I work in a private office environment within a police station -we have a radio on using national/local radio channels as a background media service
We have been told that all radios are now banned due to the requirement for a public entertainments licence-is this correct?

There was a mechanic bloke on telly recently who had been fined for playing a radio in the garage where he worked.

If you are listening to music at your place of work you need a PRS Music Licence.

Does this include Truck Drivers?

Or those tradesmen who cannot seem to carry out their work unless they have a radio blasting away.

my sister has a B+B and was told to remove he radio from the breakfast/dining area which she has done. This area is also her own dining /living room but she would be breaking the laaw to have it playing....Ridiculous eh!
