I want to place an ad on our local radio station (Tay) to help advertise a campaign (non-charity) that I am part of. I don't want to phone the radio company only to find that the cost is much too much for us to afford.

Can anybody give me a rough idea of the cost of such adverts? Just an idea of a cost would help loads.

http://www.savecarsonbeckett.com/ and I will stick the link in to get a little bit of advertising here too.

In a really crazy moment I thought of a TV advert - but was scared to even consider how much that would cost.

Just give them a ring and enquire generally how much it costs to advertise. You may aswell.
You don't need to say who you are or what it is for. You could have your answer in minutes.
A TV advert is very expensive, something like 4000 for 16 slots.
If you look on their site her http://www.tayfm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=17011 they have Tay Action,
"On a day to day basis, Tay Action brings representatives of local charities and voluntary organisations into the listeners home and makes full use of Tay AM and Tay FM to ensure it reaches its target audience."

Gie them a ring!
Unless someone knows the specific costs of the station it is almost a useless question as it very much depends on how many listeners they have etc.

We have two local commercial radio stations here and one is almost three times the cost of the other.

Give them a call - believe me they are very used to people phoning up to find out the costs to say later - sorry but can't afford it.
