That made me laugh.... says who? I think the majority of people would know who he was if he was a music legend, I think it's pushing it to call him a celebrity, what do you all think?

I thought he was the ugly one from the Pogues - now that would have been funny!
Happy mondays were one of the most influential bands of the late 80's early 90's
A totally unrelated comment to this thread chuck - but just to say I dreamt about you last night....(even though we've never met). You were very disappointed in me for some reason, can't remember why now. ;-)
I think the term "legend" gets banded about a lot these days but the Happy Mondays were a big part of the Manchester music scene and are important in that sense. Dunno though about legend though, probably not!?
Oh, And I would say the majority of people who know about music from the 90's will know who he is.
Happy Mondays....fantastic band. Together with The Stone Roses....oh I miss my yoof :-(
There is a point that dreams become nightmares, salla.... and if you're dreaming of me i'd say you've crossed that line :)

(and sure I'd never be disappointed in you really :) x )
I wouldn't call him a legend but as Chucky says they were influential along with The Stone Roses and Primal Scream. I miss my yoof too Ummmm.
Bez was the legend ......
Did anyone else pee themselves laughing when Linford and the others spent half an hour trying to light a fire with sticks and then Shaun casually walked off and lit a fag with his lighter!
Your twistin my melon man....CALL THE COPS...

dean martin ,sinatra, nat king cole, perry como, bobby darin, mario lanza, matt munro, they were what i would call legends.
Add Johnny Mathis,Tony Bennett,Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong to your list, cornacob.
Well that would depend on how old you are..!! :-)
Total prat. Bez wasn't even in the original line-up. He was a drug taking prat who only 'danced' , and was a supposed percussionist, and 'chemist' - they were managed by Phil Saxe, and then 'discovered' by Tony Wilson of The Hacienda' 'Madchester' - and no, that's not a spelling mistake.
Everyone has their own opinion of who is a legend, therefore I would choose David Bowie, Prince and Freddie Mercury.
I would add to that - Bob Marley.
I'm not knocking your choice,ummm.
fantastic band, defo a legend to me!
I agree that the Happy Mondays were very influential but it does seem that anyone who has been around for more than 10 minutes is a 'legend' nowadays. It's like using 'hero' to describe someone going about their daily duties, like policemen, soldiers, firemen, etc.

It's made the words legend, hero, star, etc. meaningless.
