I used to do that as a child because my mom used to make tea using tea leaves, I would leave a small amount because I didnt want to drink any leaves!

nowadays I will only drink tea if its scalding hot and leave it if its warm
i dont know why we do that! strange isnt it?

i do leave some in the bottom of my mug after a cuppa tea,
but drink all if its a coffee
If you grew up with real tea not teabags you'd understand......
yeah, i think im with cazzz on that one ^^^
we used to have tea made with tea leaves too as a child, so we left a little bit to avoid a mouthful of tea leaves.
and yes, me too, its got to be scalding hot, with just a tiny smidge of skimmed milk

Yes Rowan, thats what I thought - always bits in the bottom. I should imagine a large proportion of 'leavers' have never witnessed that though.
but it may have been something they saw their parents do...
we always had loose tea and my great Aunt would then read everyones tea leaves,. Those were the days :o)
We called them grouts (the mucky bit at the bottom of the tea cup)

A friend at work does it, often leaving it overnight. I always tell her I won't make her morning cuppa unless she finishes what she left the night before.
just checked my mug and i've about half left, it think its cos i forget to drink it half the time so it goes cold
I usually have biscuit mash at the bottom of my mug.
ahh yes thats another good reason for leaving some tea at the bottom, biscuit mush!
Same as fluffpot.
Its so Rowan can read the tea leaves :-)
