Grey's Anatomy - McDreamy

Why is Dr Derek Shepherd known as McDreamy? He's reasonably good looking, so I assusme that takes care of the 'dreamy' bit, but why the 'Mc'?

I think it was a nickname Christina gave him which stuck then carried on with McSteamy. Give me Alex any day over either of them :)

Oh, thanks. So the Mc doesn't signify anything - and I didn't realise it had changed to McSteamy. I must pay better attention. :o)

jenna, I don't think the 'Doctor types' before and after the adverts are too bad either! In fact my husband's convinced I only watch the programme for the adverts! ;o)

It's Mark Sloan who is McSteamy for reasons which I'm sure are obvious haha :)

I missed a few series, but I'm catching up and am now watching the current one and one of the missed ones on another channel.
