Why do BB insist on waking the housemates up at the crack of dawn? Very few people are watching at this time - those who have to be up that early are usually on their way to work and those who don't are still asleep.

All it does is make the housemates go to bed earlier - the time when people are up and wanting to watch the show...instead they are left with fuzzy green images of people in bed!

Because it is "evil big brother", just does it to torment the housemates

Normally I would agree that it is fairly pointless (apart from just being mischievous and nasty for the sake of it :-), but at the moment it seems that they are doing a Hippy task which involves getting up at the crack of half-past-six am to worship the Sun God (or something)

I meant the fact that the viewing figures are surely more important than annoying the celebrities - particularly when few people are awake or able to watch at that time of day
Because of the virtual sensory deprivation that is a condition of the BB house, without external imposition of a fixed daily routine, the housemates would revert to the actual biological clock we have, which is a forty-eight hour cycle, not a twenty-four hour cycle, which would mean they would sleep for much longer periods of time, which would throw out the TV schedules.
why watch it at any time anyway, it's just a load of crap

tell me more about this 48 hour cycle andy? what does it entail?
