midsomer murders

i've never seen it properly, but from what i've heard, its a small village where murders have been going on for years.

1) how is anyone still left?

2) are the murders now murdering each other?

3) why would anyone want to move there? but if they didn't there would noone left to murder.

Yes i know its only fiction, but if it was a village, as i first thought, it would be impossible for the amount of murders to happen, that do.

Perhaps it's a bit like Royston Vasey - you only get murdered if you're not 'local'.
