G-con gun problem

I've got a 100hz Philips TV, but I can't get my G-con gun to work on the PS2 shooting games that I play on it. Should I just give up, or is there anything I can do to make this gun work??

If you can, try putting the TV in 50Hz mode.

there is also a gun available with 100 hz compatability and best of all it has red dot aim !!!!

That sounds ideal Mattk, as I don't seem to have the option to put my TV into 50HZ mode. Can you give me some more details?
