Hi, my ex and his new partner have been asked to go to a conference regarding their unborn baby next week and I feel that this may cause problems for me and my 2 children. I have no issues with my ex or his partner and we have a good relationship between us, we comunicate well and we can sit and chat amicably about things. They have even asked if I will go to the conference to "back them up" because my 2 children stay with them every other weekend and there have been no problems on that side and Social Services and Cafcas have no issue, my ex has a court order for this aswell. I suppose the question I'm asking is, if their unborn baby should be placed as a child in need or at risk...what will that mean for mine? Surely it cant be one rule for one and one for another ?

why would their unborn child be put under protection?

There have been issues with Domestic Violence and Alcohol Abuse in the past, both my ex and his partner have completed courses and counselling for both of the issues...hence my ex getting his court order x
Was the domestic and alcohol abuse happening whilst your children were staying there each weekend?
Question Author
No that was before the children started to stay and there was about 6 months between them finishing their courses and the children starting to stay due to the court process being quite slow. The partner is open with me and I'm confident that she would tell me if there were any concerns. The children havent come home with any stories or worries either.
