Does anyone agree that Sharon Osborne handed the winner of the X Factor the competion on a plate after her slagging during the "judges verdict" (Won't mention who actually won in case it spoils it for anyone who doesn't know)

I personally think he was going to win, but I do think she made it easier for him, swinging the undecideds.. but then again a lot of people worship the ground she walks on and voted accordingly. I thinhk she was a bit harsh if truth be told

I think Sharon is well cool - but her slating Steve was far far to hard and way over the top. Probly and indirect dig a Simon, methinks...
i think she finally showed her true personality rather than the cutesy ,mumsy character she usually puts across.or alternatively she could be attention seeking again.(perhaps she'll have a press conference this morning!)

yep !

she paints this cuddly image but she is far from it.

I agree Juliebobs...and well said MattK...I think Sharon Osborne's a nasty piece of work..

i agree with all of you she was out of order i think a lot of it may be due to the fact she lost tabby last week and she has been petulant and spitefull all the way through,,and very personal  last night she did herself no favours she may be able to get away with that behaviour in america but we think different here,,i wasnt a steve fan but i certainly wasnt a g4 fan at all,,but last night after her comments i was literally begging steve to win,,,louis was out of order in the week saying steve looked like fred west and i notice he didnt congratulate steve last night he has acted very childish throughout the whole series as well,,never mind we have real talent to watch next sunday itv 2 at 8 o clock the american idols have their xmas show with ruben studdard and fantasia barrino,,,they are worth watching i have their cds and they are top draw,,,gypsy
Egos at five paces! The judges are all high-profile strong characters, you don;t get to their positions by not being able to say what you think. I entirely agreed with Sharon's observations, but felt that this was the wrong time and place to air them. She prefaced her comments by saying she has never been a Steve fan- so no-one can accuse her of being inconsistent, but that said, it may have been a dig at Simon, rather than at Steve himself. For the record, I quite liked G4 for doing something different - each of their interperations was something out of the ordinary - wheras Steve always sounded like an average karaoke singer on a Saturday night, and there's something creepy about his flirty smiles and soul-baring weping. Still, all will succeed if the ingredients are there - luck, favour with the public, good management, stamnina, and talent - in that order!
Don't you all think it was a rigged setup anyways? Strange that, how at the stage where 3 finalists were in the running and each judge still had one to represent! Strange how they don't reveal the votes each got!  We take it for granted what we see but you have to remember the show is about making money and that's down to the voters through phone-calls. They're laughing all the way to the bank! Does anyone know where there is info on how much money the show raked in, not forgetting adverts during intervals etc? Then consider the 1million recording deal. I'll bet they made vastly more than that!
I totally agree - I only saw the first half of the show as I had to go out - and I have only just seen it on repeat - Sharon is supposed to be Louis' mate - I bet he'll be thanking her but I still think Steve was going to win - what she said was totally out of order as she attacked Steve's personality saying he was a backstabber and was over-confident - but you can see from the first auditions that they were going to kick him out because he wasn't confident enough and they said he didn't want it - she's probably referring to the press conference when Steve called Louis an aggravating little man - Sharon would have said a lot worse if someone had described Ozzy as looking like Fred West - and Kate Thornton's comment at the beginning of Sharon being the impartial judge was a joke as she was on Richard and Judy telling viewers to vote for G4 - she was out along with Louis to stop Simon winning from the start and no matter how much Simon annoys me at times - Louis is a million times worse and even had to pinch Simon's line - I want to see that smile off Simon's face.  He thought he had it in the bag after he won with Girls Aloud - he's forgetting he was up against an old codger who hadn't had current hits for years - Simon's a different kettle fish from Pete Waterman.  At least Simon will give praise where he thinks it's due - Louis and Sharon cloak their dislike in fakeness - your are as reliable as a volvo - what the hell!! - she should be on a psyche ward - she's totally bipolar

I really think that G4 would (and should have anyway in my opinion) have won if not for Sharon having a pop at Steve. I read in the paper today that she said she had done Steve a favour as more people voted for him because of her slating him so if she dislikes him as much as she says I don't understand why she did it and why wait till the final judges verdict? she could have said something much earlier in the series. Apparently Steve and Sharon had had a big argument during rehearsals so maybe that had something to do with it.  I personally think Steve will disappear without a trace like Michelle McManus has. I would be interested to know what percentage of the vote he had in comparison to G4 and whether it went up substantially after Sharon's comments.

X Factor 2 has the go ahead as well, does that mean Pop Idol's demise?

I know both Steve and his girlfriend Eileen. Steve is a genuinley nice guy, with a great voice. The biggest disappointment for me in this series is that I don't think he performed at his absolute best in any of the shows, though The Sweetest Feeling on Saturday was getting close. What Sharon did was spitefull and nasty. I'm sure the irony of Mrs. Osborne berating someone for being "fake", was not entirely lost on the public. Her "Volvo" comments were cruel and calculated, she knew that by involving his girlfriend she could upset him, as it left him in an impossible situation during the break, and it worked. She managed to soure the biggest night of his, his family, and his friends' lives with her bitterness. There have been other instances behind the scenes, involving some nasty stuff going on. Steve deserved his win, she deserves nothing but a good slap in the kisser.
I agree that Sharon was totally out of order and also completey uncalled for. Just because Tabby was out there was no reason for her to beahve in such a bitter and spoilt way. I heard that her and Steve argued in rehearsals but has she ever heard of judging someones performance on the night and NOT being personal just to ruin the night for Steve. I personally think that Steve is totally genuine and i felt very sorry for him when he was crying. I think against all odds is a brilliant choice for him and was a really good idea of Simon's.

I never had any opinion on S.O before X factor, but the I kind of had some respect for her during the auditions. My opinion started to change when she cowardly bottled out of choosing between Cassie and Tabby that week. Then when she first came on stage on the Final night she spouted all that garbage about judging on the performance only to then spit out that vitriolic personal attack on steve just flipped it for me. What a spiteful , talentless no-hoper she is. Hope she bogs off back to the states where she belongs.

As for Steve, fair play to him, but disagree with his song choice. Never will be as good as Phills version. I thought his best song was the first one he did that night. The Jackie Wilson number.

In conclusion I was surprised how passionate I got about this as I detest the whole format and the plethora of mediochre talent shows that have infested the airways.

Ho hum.
