uh any of the halloween films? The most recent being H2O although they're pretty rubbish; the exorcist, any of the scream films, darkness falls, my little eye, or failing that go to blockbuster and look in the horror/thriller section. At the cinema Saw is pretty nasty but not ghosty or anything...
Have you seen 'Misery'? That scared the hell out of me....
The original Texas Chainsaw Masacre and The Entity are the most terrifying films I have ever seen in my life. Other scaries are Wrong Turn, Jeepers Creepers, Fear.com, 3hirteen ghosts,(admittedly I am a wimp and get spooked really easily).
The most recent Halloween is Halloween Resurection, the follow up from Halloween H20. They are quite good. I found Gothika quite scary with Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz. The Shining with Jack Nicholson is good!

The Ring

My Little Eye

IT

Exorcist ( original)

I only get scared by movies which could plausibly be real...I'm a hard nuts! (although I don't have hard nuts...I hope)
Event horizon!! it's the only film I can name which has ever scared me! (except for ghostbusters, but i was only ten at the time)
DARK WATER
THE RING
THE THING
THE FOG
ALIEN
THE SHINING

plz plz plz dnt listen to those that hav mentioned fear dot com, thirteen ghosts, wrong turn or any others that that person has mentioned!!!!!!!!! they were some of the worst films i have ever seen as was open water...the last thing u shud c if its a scary flick ur after!  the excocist was ok...not the best...sorry i really cannot think of that many scary films...texas chainsaw massacre...dont even go there...as if u really need 2 c it when the name tells all...

The Ring is pretty good.

House of 1000 Corpses is quite gory and sick, but not exactly scary- still OK though.

Don't bother with The Village though- AWFUL film.

the ring or salems lot

Don't think you can beat the Omen serious for scariness

The original version of the Haunting...black and white....stiff upper lip ....no screaming and crying into the camera.... really scary.....of course that was back when bw tv ruled... had to walk up the stairs with my sister after it ...cos I was a nervous wreck........

Stop the posts! Groovygal has spoken.
Oooh, what's that one when the girl is in shower at the start and starts bleeding, think it's Alred Hitchcock black and white? Anyway, what about Psycho? Agree on House of 1000 Corpses - it is so weird.
Blair Witch Project ... yes it did scare me, the 2n one did too ....... why are there no men answering this Q? Are they too scared d'ya think?!
The new dawn of the dead film is good..

Thanks guys, i'm totally confused now but will visit my local blockbuster armed with my list.  I've seen quite a few of the films mentioned and the scariest of all has to be THE RING  so........ which ones are equally scary (not into zombies though). xxx

Texas Chainsaw will scare the oants off you I swear. I found the Ring quite tame, and I get scared at everything!
I meant pants not oants!
