Can someone explain the Ruth/Jack/Max/Dawn/Darren situation to me? I mean, I get that Ruth is Dawn and Jack's child that they put up for adoption, but how on earth can she be that old already? Did Dawn have her before the programme started?

Jack is Ruth and Darren�s dad, and he later had an affair with Dawn who was (Ruth�s best friend) when she was 16. The affair resulted in Beth, who was put up for adoption. This all happened before the programme started and came to light some years back. Max is Dawns younger brother. hope this makes sense!!

I sort of get it but you lost me at the Max bit. I don't see how he can be Dawns little bro? Has Dawn ever been in it? (I've been on holiday and missed nearly 3 weeks of it!). I mean, is Dawn Ruth's friend or mum? So Beth is Max's neice? Thus, Mandy, Cindy and Tom would be Beth's aunties and uncle? Hmmmm.....

Dawn was in Hollyoaks yrs ago when it first started, but she died about 5 yrs ago. Max was her little bro. Dawn used to be best friends with Ruth . When she was 16 Dawn had had an affair with Ruths dad, Jack. This resulted in Beth being born, who was put up for adoption. Jack and family then moved from hollyoaks. None of this was ever shown on TV as it all happened before the series started. It was all explained when Jack and family moved back to Hollyoaks about 6 yrs ago.Max is Beths uncle.

Dawn's dead. She died of cancer or something ages ago. She was in it right at the beginning, went out with Jambo, posh girl with silly short brown hair. Friends with Lucy and that even posher one (Natasha?) who now does the film reviews in the News of the World with Paul Ross. What a step up in the world!
