We've had Sky+ for a few years - very worthwhile. But today got Sky+ HD. The bloody thing is only connected now thru the hdmi socket on the tv. I cant get my beloved new tv to get channels thru hdmi. So now I have a tv with an in-built hard drive I cant record to, Freeview I cant access and a remote control that wont change channels. If someone can advise please say so before the sky+hd is disconnected

On your tv onscreen set up menu, have you set it toHDMI?
why would you want to record to your tv's hard drive when sky hd has a hard drive to record to ?
Also, same as other response, make sure you have changed the setting to HDMI in the tv menu as it is probably set to scart or something
Surely when the Sky engineers installed it they checked it was all working?

Are you saying you got NO pictures from the Sky HD box because if so get Sky back to sort it out.

What remote control wont change channels ? The Sky remote or the TV remote ?

If it is the Sky remote you need to "program" it so it knows which TV you have got.

And on my TV, to get integrated Freeview I have to change the TV "input" from HDMI (or Scart) to DTV (Digital TV).

A small menu comes up and I select DTV or HDMI or Scart from the list.

Have sorted it. The hdmi is a source for the transmission from the Sky+HD box. It doesn't (I believe) provide for channel selection on the tv remote - just what ever is selected on Sky.
Channel selection via the tv remote will only work on tv and dtv inputs.
Where the Sky dish comes into the HD box I have fitted a splitter with the second ariel from it going to the tv/dtv input socket on the back of the tv. Selected tv input and retuned it. Hey presto! it found all the channels including Freeview. So now I have full functionallity of my tv again.

In one of the earlier responses I was asked why I'd want to record through the tv hard-drive when Sky+ has so much space. With the combination of 160gb of hdd drive space on both and the facility of up to 4 simultanious recordings - plus having just spent over 460 on a new plasm tv I want the best out of it
Thanks to all for your interest.
