Am thinking of getting a new big screen Tv. All of you experts out there, which is the best in terms of picture quality, especially when HD programmes are more readily available. What reasons would be the ones that made you decide which to choose

Hi, we recently purchased a 40" Panasonic plasma and the picture is so much better than our old 32" lcd tv. The guy in the shop said that if you go for 40" or above its best to get plasma, not sure if theres any truth in that tho?
OK here goes. Plasma has a better 'all round' picture than LCD. LCD is often described as having a 'cold' picture. However, a Plasma TV reflects light, oh boy does it. If you have a dark 'viewing room' eg your lounge, then plasma is the way to go. Unfortunately if you have any light source in the room it will reflect in the plasma screen. LCD being a matt surface does not reflect light so can be used in a brighter room or that with light sources. This to your average TV viewer is the real LCD vs Plasma conundrum.
