Hey people, im quite good with computers normally but i feel this is beyond me. I have been using limewire and frostwire for years, downloading small files and large files, but just recently the speed is absolutley useless, it downloads @ 1kb a second which takes a song like four hours to download, I have tried uninstalling both programs, I have checked all firewall settings, and it's the same speed when i go via ethernet cable, does anyone have any ideas? Oh by the way im using AVG Free 8

what ISP are you with, several are implementing bandwidth shaping to limit the download speeds from P2P services?

if your with one that does only thing you can really do is swap ISP's to a better one

I'm with talk - talk, i've heard of the limiting thing, but i don't use it as much as some people would, i download something like ten songs a week if that, i though that limiting would be more focused on heavy users?

If it is my I.S.P which one would you recommend which is cheap but has the flexibility of downloading songs without dropoff?
they don't limit on use (it's not like a cap on the ammount you can download) they can limit on what is using the connection, so P2P clients can be limited to only a very small amount of the overall bandwidth available to you.
