The Sex and the City Film – should they be hanging up their Manolos?
The hit TV series left our screens a few years ago on a high; all the characters had found their partners and all was well. Now the four females are back, starring in the Sex and the City movie which premiered in London last night. The women are now in their forties. What do you think? Are you eagerly awaiting the film? Or are you not sure what all the fuss is about?

I don't eagerly await any film-least of all this one!....I did enjoy the series,but I suspect the movie may be a huge flop. I mean-those women are not real,are they. And who in their right mind dresses like that???....No-one in NYC i am sure!!!

I don't get the first question. Are you asking us whether we think that women in their forties should be having sex in the city (or elsewhere)? Its not unheard of I s'pose, but maybe they should keep quiet about it...?
Am I eagerly awaiting the film? Didn't know about it until this morning, so I guess not.
I am not sure what all the "fuss" (if there is any) is about, presumably some film with self obsessed, sexually liberated shopaholics - which would seem to appeal to its target demographic.
Its just horses for courses, and SJP is a frontrunner.

What defines sexual liberation? Not getting married and having only that man as my life sexual partner? I guess that makes me sexually liberated.

I have to admit that I'm looking forward to the film. If only because they live in a world so far removed from my own that it's bordering on fantasy and I'm deeply jealous of their lifestyles- imaginary though it is!

I, for one, cannot wait! The series from 1 to 6 were all fantastic and the critics are saying that the film really does it justice.
I don't see what your point about them all being in their forties is about, though. Samantha was 45 when the series ended in 2004.

id agree with boo its just a sort of fantasy that you can partake in for an hour and a half , no different id say to guys watching say star wars or indiana jones and then suddenly thinking they are darth vader .
i loved all the series and am really looking forward to seeing the film.

Can't stand the show, and agree with Octavius' description of the characters.
As for the "sex" appeal, as someone recently released a line of "celebrity look (probably not very much) alike" blow-up sex dolls, one of which was "Sarah Jessica Pork-her" (who apparently loves "sex in the sh***y"), I'm guessing that there are a lot of folk who her attractive.

love your answers the best one being whats a monolo, think the film will be brill what else is worth watching these days apart from the repeats, i,m looking forwardward to getting a bunch of gfriends a few drinks and the film, whose not shouldnt be posting replys, enjoy girls x
