Can ANYBODY help me find out the name of a cathedral/church visited by Dan Cruikshank in his programme called Marvels of the Modern Age, which was on TV a while ago.
The building was in France I think, it had a sweeping roof, a whitewashed exterior and very thick walls and small irregular windows had been cut causing amazing light patterns inside.
Thanks in advance

I only saw one of the programs where he went to Brasilia and there was an amazing cathedral there, this one (windows are not small though):

re my answer above.

I think I have mixed up his series. The scenes from Brasilia were from his recent series Adventures in Architecture.

The series you mention was shown in 2006 and I have not seen any episodes.
After spending about 45 minutes hunting round the internet I THINK I may have found it, is this it ?

If so it is the Sainte Pierre Church, in Firminy

Thanks so much for the swift replies!! I'm completely obsessed with Dan Cruikshank's programmes and loved the Brasilia church - also liked the building in Kazakhstan!
Unfortunately it's not the one you've kindly posted links to either, but like the look of that one too...!! I came across the one I'm thinking of completely by accident in an architectural book a few months ago and forgot to make a note of the name of it. To me, from memory it reminds me of a thatched cottage... I'll keep hunting!! But thanks.

After putting in random sentences from memory - I've found it!! It's called Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Haut in a place called Ronchamp.
