In Coronation Street , Becky smoked in Roys cafe. Smoking indoors is illegal so how did they get away with it?

Smoking indoors is allowed if it has anything to do with the acting/play/film etc.
Magicians can smoke on stage in a theatre if it is to do with their act/trick etc.

Not in Scotland they can't. Quite a few folk got in trouble for flaunting the ban when it first came in and the pigs threatened to close down venues over it.

Forgot to say that it was folk in shows at the Fringe festival that were flaunting it, not average Joes in pubs although bouncers do chuck you out for flaunting it if you light up in a pub.

I think you are confusing reality with fiction. They could make a UFO land in the Rovers if they so wished.

I believe the smoking ban only applied to reality rather than some script writer's imagination.
