Anyone remember a kids gameshow, probably mid to late 70's, where the main guy talks backwards?. I can remember the kids are supposed to be transported in to space, or is it all just some magical dream?

This was another bit of 'The Adventure Game' as discussed before on various questions. The bloke used to come in singing "Waltzin' Matilda" backwards, then give clues to the contestants, also speaking backwards.

Yes, The Adventure Game was a great show. One of the weekly 'guests' was planted to confuse and mis-direct the other players... I remember one if the Blue Peter gals doing that job. Also one of the presenters truly was a plant, as they always disguised themself as an aspidistra!
