Did anyone watch this programme last night,it was very disturbing & totally heartbreaking.I went to bed feeling very low & very lucky!!They were treating women & especially children as if they were a commodity, but the people are in 'catch 22' situation, with the 'one child policy'.I thought if they show that young un-married mother giving her newborn baby girl to that vile man (who sold his son!!)I would break down in tears & never stop, luckily they did'nt.Anyone else really upset by it??

Yes,me.It was awful...i was lost for words and still am,i tried to tell my son about it over breakfast this morning but i couldn`t even begin.
It is truly heartbreaking for the world to see these atrocities. Having worked in Romania even before the fall of Ceausescu, I realised that the world would never fully comprehend how these children and their parents suffer. My home there works to provide safe-harbouring for only a few. I wish I could do more. Always! In Moldova, my children are all victims of child-trafficking. The events you saw on television are acted out every day, not due to government decree, but due to the most extreme poverty. The trafficking, predominately by Russians, represent the lowest of the low, where children are nothing but commodities and when their usefulness is finished, or they are defective in the eyes of the owners, then they are dispatched with the compassion and effectiveness of an abattoir! Our nations need more awareness of these truths!

Hi Bex

I thought it was so very sad and I cried during and after the programme. That young couple with the baby girl was tragic. The mother seemed really calm on the outside and i thought it was heartbreaking to hear her partner hagle over the price with her sitting there.

And then the woman in the park made me cry again. I wanted to jump into the tv and adopt that baby girl.

Saddest programme i have seen in ages.
I couldn't bring myself to watch it. I remember so vividly the programme about the Dying Rooms 12 or 13 years ago and I could still weep over that.
Yes it was very upsetting and once again I found myself thinking how lucky I and my children are to have been born in the West! :0(
Agree with all of the above comments- it was a truly sobering programme huh?

The Traffiker who actually sold his own son too! I wanted punch him, I was furious at his attitude. I still can't believe the Olympic commitee gave the go ahead for the 2008 games to be held in such a barbaric country.
Children and women being stolen was awful.

But the fact that people will sell their own children (often against their will I know) is even worse.
